It sounds almost like magic, but the science of nanotechnology leads to the development of materials that have special chemical structures that make them functional. These materials are frequently called “smart” as they respond to environmental stimuli with particular changes in some variables. Depending on changes in external conditions, "smart" materials change their properties (mechanical, electrical, appearance), their structure or composition, or their functions. Nanotechnology is the new wave of the future that is promising to achieve advances in medicine, manufacturing, high-performance materials, information technology, energy and environmental technologies.
At NanoPhos, we craft materials that effectively solve common problems. We want to see innovations out of the lab and into the hands of consumers. Our vision is clear: “Tune the nanoworld to serve the macroworld” – in simple terms make nanoparticles serve the needs of people.
Management Team:
Dr Ioannis Arabatzis (Managing Director and Co-Founder)
Dr. Arabatzis holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the National Technological University of Athens (NTUA), an MBA from ALBA Graduate Business School and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Ioannina. His major research interests include applied nanotechnology and semiconductors chemistry. He is co-author in more than 20 scientific articles. His journal contributions have received more than 200 citations from fellow scientists all over the world. Today, as Managing Director of NanoPhos SA, he is proud to serve his dream by dedicating himself in transferring technology into every day applications.

Dr Vasilis Theoharakis (Board Chairman and Co-Founder)
Dr. Theoharakis holds a PhD in Marketing and Strategic Management from the University of Warwick, an MBA (with distinction) from New York University, an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University and a BEng(Honors) in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at StonyBrook. He is an Associate Professor of Marketing & Entrepreneurship at ALBA Graduate Business School, a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Aston Business School and has extensive work experience from Silicon Valley serving in various executive positions |
